Drilling Detergent

AFRO D.D is an aqueous blend of surface-active agents. AFRO D.D is designed to reduce the surface tension of all water-base mud systems and reduce the sticking tendency of water-sensitive shale cuttings. AFRO D.D is the emulsifier for oil in water continuous phase. AFRO D.D is a concentrated, low-toxicity drilling fluid additive formulated to aid in preventing bit and Bottom-Hole. AFRO D.D coats drill cuttings and metal surfaces to reduce the sticking tendency of hydratable shales.

Applications

AFRO D.D has application in all drilling areas and can be used in virtually any water-base drilling fluid. AFRO D.D is used primarily in upper-hole virtually any water-base drilling fluid. AFRO D.D is used primarily in upper-hole drilling to minimize bit and Bottom Hole, AREX D.D surface tension, and aid in dropping sand and the removal of drill solids. It surface tension, and aid in dropping sand and the removal of drill solids. AFRO D.D used as an emulsifier at any point in the drilling operation to improve emulsification of oil and reduce the viscosity of oil contaminated fluids. AFRO D.D reduces torque and drag, even when no oil is present in the system.

Technical Information

AFRO D.D treatments range from 0.1 to 0.2 lb/bbl ,4 to 6 lb/bbl concentrations of AFRO D.D minimize bit and BHA balling; higher concentrations may cause foaming and require a defoamer. AFRO D.D is effective in all water-base systems including freshwater, brackish water, seawater and saturated saltwater fluids.
